Appointment of Head of Sixth Form
Starting in September 2019
Are you looking to become Head of Sixth Form within a friendly and vibrant Independent School?
Bishop’s Stortford College is a place of learning that provides an outstanding range of opportunities for developing well-rounded, skilful and happy young people. We pride ourselves on doing this in a beautiful environment with the best facilities.
At the College, we are aware that it is the people who make this possible. It is their energy, imagination and enthusiasm that creates the opportunities, experiences and very special atmosphere for both pupils and staff to enjoy.
The Senior School
Bishop’s Stortford College Senior School is, in the words of ISI inspectors, ‘an exceptional learning community’ - a place where children, as they enter the teenage years, have wonderful opportunities to become confident, well-rounded and interesting young men and women who take with them the qualifications, skills, adaptability and respect for others to thrive in the world beyond school.
Ensuring this process of all round growth – academically, morally, spiritually, athletically and creatively – is our aim. Every pupil is encouraged, taught and challenged to fulfil his or her true potential by being immersed in an environment of discovery and wholehearted participation.
Senior School pupils enjoy increasing freedom in choosing how they spend their time, with our highly regarded and extensive activity programme, in addition to outstanding sport, music, visual art and drama opportunities, the Duke of Edinburgh Scheme and numerous clubs and societies. The breadth of opportunity is simply stunning even by independent boarding school standards.
The College Houses are a central part of life for all Senior School day pupils and boarders. The strong sense of belonging and level of care between pupils across the year groups, and between pupils and staff, make Bishop's Stortford College a very special place to be.
Bishop’s Stortford College is seeking to appoint a well-qualified and suitably experienced graduate to lead the Sixth Form (approximately 250 pupils) and join the Senior Management Team of this thriving and successful school.
The successful applicant will have strong academic qualifications, a proven record of success in teaching and in management and first class communication skills. No particular specialism is sought.
Salary, according to qualification and experience, is above the national scale.
The offer of appointment will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and receipt of two acceptable references.
The College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. A copy of the College’s Child Protection Policy is available on the website.
