Head of Upper Senior School

Fuzhou, China

Start date: January 2021 (or sooner)

Opened in September 2018, Rong Qiao Sedbergh School (RQSS) has quickly established itself as a school of choice in Fuzhou.  A bilingual school blending a British approach to education with the requirements of the Chinese National Curriculum, the school now welcomes 350 students from kindergarten to grade 11.  The school will double in size in the next year and will cater for 2,700 students when full.  A co-educational boarding school, the leadership team has successfully embedded the ethos, academic excellence and emphasis on a well-rounded education for which Sedbergh School is known.

The Head of Upper Senior School will offer proven leadership and oversee significant development over the next few years.  Working closely with the Executive Principal, the appointed candidate will embed a first-class education in which students progress through the IGCSE and A-Level programmes.  S/he will help shape and bring into reality a vision for education to meet the needs of highly ambitious learners aspiring to matriculate to leading colleges and universities throughout the world.

RQSS has enjoyed committed support from Rong Qiao locally as well as from Sedbergh School in the UK.  This is an ideal time to join a young school that has established a strong foundation yet has an ambitious strategic plan in place to build on its early success.
