Beverley Grammar School is a popular 11–18 boys’ comprehensive with a Joint Sixth Form with the neighbouring girls’ school.  We focus on creating a culture of success, a positive climate for learning, increased student attainment and achievement, and social and emotional development for all students.

We are seeking a Pastoral/Year Leader for September 2021 to be responsible for the management and pastoral support of a designated cohort of students.

Main duties include:

  • supporting the Pastoral Lead in developing and devising learning and behaviour programmes
  • supporting identified groups within the cohort to achieve academic potential
  • accepting additional areas of responsibility to support the wider working of student support
  • ensuring effective delivery and continual improvement of the Student Support function
  • providing general care and welfare for students
  • maintaining and monitoring student records in accordance with GDPR regulations.

Hours: 35 per week during term-time as part of a permanent contract.

Beverley Grammar School is a boys-only, comprehensive, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form situated in Beverley, East Yorkshire. It is an academy converter supported by a single-academy trust.

Along with Beverley High School for girls, it provides a mixed sixth form. A smaller than average secondary school, Beverley Grammar School provides 920 places for secondary and sixth-form students aged 11-18 when fully subscribed.

The oldest state school in England, Beverley Grammar School was founded in 700AD. With multiple relocations over the years, the school grew from as few as 70 students to the size it is today, with many renovations throughout the 20th century and beyond.
