Let’s be honest, in October 2016 our school was graded ‘inadequate’ by Ofsted and placed into special measures… We know where we stand and have high aspirations and a rigorous plan to turn the school around to a grading of ‘good’ within two years… With a positive monitoring inspection in May 2017 and our best results in 3 years - Get on board and make a real difference to our children and to your career.
We are looking to appoint a highly skilled and dedicated leader who is able to inspire students to achieve their very best at a personal and academic level.
The successful candidate will possess the necessary interpersonal skills thus enabling them to establish trusting, supportive and effective working partnerships with young people, parents and carers.
We are looking for a Head of Year who:
- will oversee and support the pastoral and academic progress of the students in their year group, taking the strategic lead role to deliver student success

We can offer:
- A culture where we will encourage you to be enterprising, forward thinking and play an active part in our school improvement
- Committed teams of staff at all levels
We have started the new academic year strongly following our best set of results in three years. We have increased our Basics measure of English & Maths GCSE grade 4+ with a Progress 8 score of -0.06 that’s real school improvement. We have seen a significant increase in the number of students staying with us into sixth form.
After a period of instability at the Academy we are pleased to say that our journey of improvement is well underway. We have been joined by some outstanding teachers who will help us ensure that our Year 11 and sixth form students achieve even better results in 2018. We are committed to providing a well-rounded curriculum, inspiring and effective teaching, supportive structures and a positive environment for our learners.
We welcome visits to the Academy, to see the school in action and discuss the post. To book an appointment please contact Gill Jerome (Principals PA) at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01908 624722.
