Head of Year/Teacher

Grace Academy Darlaston are currently seeking an outstanding teacher and Head of Year, ideally with experience in the pastoral field.  A Head of Year is a key role within the pastoral structure of the academy and is essential in maintaining the purposeful environment in which Grace students excel.  As a Head of Year, the successful applicant will be the driving force in ensuring high standards of pastoral care through leading a team of Form Tutors, taking overall responsibility for the welfare and discipline of the year group and identifying students who require guidance and support.  The ability to teach Science, English or Humanities is an advantage but not essential.

Grace Academy Darlaston, is a vibrant secondary Academy on the outskirts of Walsall rated by Ofsted as 'Good' in May 2017.  We have approximately 822 students on roll across the Academy and are expanding rapidly.  Following a period of under-achievement, our staff have worked exceedingly hard over the last few  years which led to a substantial improvement in results in 2016 and  2017 and we expect further improvements in 2018.
