Woodbridge School

Set in the beautiful town of Woodbridge in Suffolk, Woodbridge School comprising our Pre-Prep, Prep and Senior School was established in 1587.  An independent co-educational day and boarding school for ages 4 to 18, the original mission of the School was to provide an education for the young who would then give back to their community, thus enriching it and them all; this is embedded and continues in all that we do today.

Woodbridge School, including our Prep, Senior School, Sixth Form and Boarding, has been rated ‘Excellent’ in all areas by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) 2023.

Combining the best of tradition and innovation, our curriculum delivers the perfect balance of life skills, creative challenges and academic excellence.  Woodbridge School offers an education that shapes itself around each student, ensuring they become everything they are meant to be.  Our Prep School is a caring nurturing, lively and inspirational introduction to School, inspiring and investing a true love of learning in children.  Our Senior School offers the perfect balance of creative challenges, academic excellence as well as interpersonal and social skills, for life throughout School – and beyond.

Every opportunity at Woodbridge School

Students have access not only to an excellent education but to a wealth of pastoral care, co-curricular activities, societies and sport.  From learning hockey with a double Olympian, working with precious metals and fabrics in Leatherworking and Silversmithing, to attending Chess lessons taught by an International Chess Master, learning and exploring new techniques in Maths challenges, experimenting for fun in Science Club, developing performance skills in LAMDA and debating with our MUN club, there is something for every student.

Collaborative relationships

We expect students to work hard, develop the ability to work independently and to achieve excellent results as they have done this year; their superb GCSE and A level results reflect both the achievements and successful collaboration of and between our students and teachers; our students confirming their relationships with teachers is one of the main reasons they choose to stay on to study A levels at our Sixth Form.

We monitor progress carefully and provide targeted support when necessary, and always keep parents proactively informed, encouraging you to feel easy about contacting us at any time about any matter.

Clear vision and values
