Teaching ServiceTuggerah Lakes Secondary College Berkeley Vale Campus is a 7–10 campus (enrolment 850 students, including 12% Aboriginal students) situated close to Tuggerah Lakes and surrounded by bushland. The campus is part of Tuggerah Lakes Secondary College which includes two middle campuses and a senior campus. The College has a commitment to high potential and gifted students in the arts, with a Dance Company achieving some remarkable outcomes over the last four years. From 2022 further college-level high potential and gifted student programs will be implemented across the arts.
The campus provides a quality, balanced and comprehensive education program for all students, where there is a clear focus on high expectations and teaching all students at their point of instructional need. Educational programs are supported through a valued partnership with the Kuriwa AECG, Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) and Advancement via Individual Determination (AVID).
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
Proven ability to use evidence-based teaching practices to drive literacy and numeracy across all creative and performing arts subjects.
Strong interpersonal skills with a capacity to lead, inspire and promote creative and performing arts initiatives and programs, both within the campus and across the college.
Deep knowledge of the needs of high potential and gifted students and a demonstrated ability to lead programs for these students.
Capacity to lead the development of educational programs that integrate learning technologies across all creative and performing arts subjects.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
