Position Information 

Mulwaree High School is a large comprehensive rural high school in Goulburn, comprising of 850 students, including 5 support classes. The student population comprises 9% Aboriginal students and 5% EASL/D. The school has a staff with a diverse range of experience and offers a wide academic curriculum as well as catering extensively to the interests of all students in sport, academia and the arts. A strong emphasis is placed on literacy and numeracy across the whole school and positive growth in NAPLAN has been seen over the past few years. 

Mulwaree High School has strong community links and promotes a number of leadership opportunities for students and staff. The student body is capably represented by six student leadership teams.

The school has a strong focus on building student pride in learning and creating a culture of continual improvement and high expectations. Mulwaree High School is committed to the values of kindness, resilience, respect, responsibility and opportunity and aims to develop young people who make a positive difference as good citizens.

  
Specific Selection Criteria 
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria, 
  • Approval to teach English 7-12 with proven capacity to contribute to whole school activities.
  • Demonstrated capacity to lead a diverse faculty in the delivery of quality, engaging and inclusive learning experiences with a focus on maintaining high expectations of all students and staff.
  •  Demonstrated capacity to lead the development and implementation of innovative and effective teaching, learning and assessment practices. 
  •  Outstanding interpersonal and proactive leadership skills with a strong focus on effective communication and interpersonal skills to build teacher capacity in delivering innovative curriculum experiences. 
  • Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively in developing and implementing data informed practices and programs to improve student success and school excellence
  
General Selection Criteria 
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
 
Conditions 

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
