Position Information 

Situated between the ocean and the lake in Darkinjung country, The Entrance Campus is the senior campus of Tuggerah Lakes Secondary College. It is established as a more adult working and learning environment offering multiple pathways to the HSC and beyond.

Our campus consists of 850 Year 11 and 12 students from diverse backgrounds (FOEI 116) including 8% Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander students. We are part of a multi-campus collegiate with two middle years 7-10 campuses (Berkeley Vale and Tumbi Umbi Campuses) and a proud partner of Tuggerah Lakes Learning Community which includes the seven partner primary schools. Our core values of Respect, Responsibility and Relationships underpin our school culture and motto “New Horizons.” They engage students, staff and the community in working together to develop confident, socially aware and involved young adults who can make significant contributions to the broader community.

This Campus offers the broadest range of subject choices and pathways to the HSC or Year 12 equivalent on the Central Coast, including academic, vocational and trade training. The Campus prides itself on catering for diversity and has a Support Unit and specialist classes for Emotionally Disturbed students. We have strong community partnerships to ensure that our students are confident 21st Century learners that can develop post-school pathways.

  
Specific Selection Criteria 

Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria, 

  1. Thorough knowledge of Stage 6 curriculum and assessment and demonstrated ability to build a culture of high expectations in a diverse faculty
  2. Demonstrated organisational and interpersonal skills to operate as an effective member the whole school community to drive continual improvement
  3. Experience in leading a diverse faculty using an evidenced based, best practice approach to improving outcomes for all students
  4. Demonstrated evidence of outstanding teaching of a range of Stage 6 HSIE courses
  
General Selection Criteria 
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
