Our independent schools and a range of tailored support programmes are targeted at young people who fall into high-risk groups in all key stages, including those who are excluded or at risk of exclusion from mainstream schools or Pupil Referral Units (PRUs), and those with social, emotional and/or mental health needs (SEMH) or special educational needs (SEN).

Catch22 PPP are an Ofsted registered independent school providing full-time, alternative, secondary education for young people, aged between 13 and 17, who present with additional to complex needs in West London. Job Description

You will be an experienced senior leader with a the skills and track record of achieving at least a Good in a recent OFSTED inspection, in a similar school or setting. You will provide outstanding and inspirational leadership and management of every aspect of the alternative provision school including staff, young people, premises and resources. You will drive outstanding outcomes for young people in education, personnel development, welfare and behaviour and will come into the role at a very exciting time during the development of school over the next three years. 

You will be responsible for delivering on key performance indicators, as well as planning, recruiting and managing resources to deliver outstanding education provision underpinned by inspirational teaching and learning. This will include a whole school restorative approach to behaviour management and a safe and nurturing environment built on strong relationships between teachers and learners.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will be:

  • Providing a safe, calm and well-ordered environment for all pupils and staff, focused on safeguarding pupils and developing their exemplary behaviour in school and in the wider society.
  • Maintaining a high quality educational environment for students.
  • Ensuring the continued development of Catch22 PPP and make a significant contribution to the wider Catch22 Education team.
  • Keeping abreast of developments within education and the Alternative Provision sector at local, national and international level.

  • Qualified to degree level
  • Qualified Teaching Status
  • A nationally professional qualification 
  • Recent and relevant professional development

Key Criteria

To be successful in this role you will need to keep up to date with recent developments in education pedagogy, including new learning and teaching methods and the new OFSTED framework. You will be enthusiastic about exploring the full potential of Alternative Provision – with an understanding of the risks that exist for vulnerable and complex young people and their families and a passion for achieving positive outcomes.

Your own experiences should include having experience of leading and managing whole school change; making a demonstrable impact on people and performance through effective performance management procedures. We will also expect you to be able to develop relevant management information & quality systems and to have experience of financial planning, managing budgets and achieving value for money. You should also have experience of working effectively with local commissioners to secure the best possible support and outcomes for each individual learner. An understanding and experience of working under the Independent Schools Standard is highly desirable.  

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Significant experience of leading and managing teams for improved performance.
  • Leading and managing whole school change.
  • Working in partnership with commissioners to deliver high quality services.
  • Statutory requirements and legislation relating to school leadership and management including safer recruitment, safeguarding, data protection and health and safety.
  • Understanding of the curriculum delivery for core subjects and vocational learning.

Salary: Catch22 Grade I Zone 1 Negotiable for the right candidate circa £55k per annum.
