Job overview

The Governing Body of The Stowe Group seeks a new Head for Winchester House School to succeed Emma Goldsmith after seven years of outstanding and inspirational leadership.

Winchester House is recognised as one of the leading Prep schools in the U.K. The School is an acknowledged centre of academic excellence and has a strong holistic ethos rooted in the nurturing of the individual child.

Outstanding teaching, first-class facilities and a commitment to pastoral care, ensure that all our pupils are able to flourish in a supportive environment which fosters the spiritual, moral, emotional and physical development of each child.

Sport, art, drama and music are highly prized and all pupils are encouraged to participate to the best of their ability. Girls and boys are encouraged to develop enquiring minds. There is a strong tradition of service and engagement with the local community.

Applications are encouraged from experienced and successful candidates who feel at one with the culture and ethos of the School and excited by its recent merger with The Stowe Group. Details of the School and of the experience, qualities and skills needed to take on this important Headship are outlined in the candidate pack.

Part of our role is to create as many opportunities as we can for all children. We look to extend all pupils, inside and outside the classroom, and we encourage them to aspire. We reward achievement and endeavour and we encourage all pupils to take responsibility for themselves, for others and for their school. Throughout their time at WHS, we work with parents to build a relationship that will underpin each child's development at the school. Traditional values and high standards, supported by a strong Christian ethos, are expected.
