Position Information 

Leumeah High School is a comprehensive coeducational high school situated on Dharawal Country in South Western Sydney. Students and staff have a deep respect for the traditional custodians of the land in which they live, learn and work.  The school has an enrolment of 702 students, with around 45% having a language background other than English and an additional 9% being First Nations students. The school includes a Support Unit named Bundalong, which consists of three Autism Spectrum classes.

The school boasts a broad academic curriculum, with future-focused learning at its core. As an Apple Distinguished School, all students are equipped with iPads to access innovative teaching and learning programs. Faculties drive the implementation of innovative pedagogy designed to enhance the capacity of each student to thrive in an increasingly digital world.  The highly dedicated and committed staff play a crucial role in creating a collaborative learning environment providing students with opportunities to succeed that extend beyond the classroom.  

The school's dedication to improving student outcomes and achievement is demonstrated through quality, evaluative teaching practices, staff collaboration, and ongoing reflection as key areas for professional learning. Specific Selection Criteria 
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria, 
1. Outstanding capacity to effectively lead the complex needs of a Wellbeing and Learning Support Faculty 
2. Proven ability to lead whole-school professional learning to build the capacity of staff in addressing the needs of all students, including First Nations, students with additional learning needs and HPGE. 
3. Proven commitment and ability to collaborate with the Executive team and staff in leading the implementation of the Strategic Improvement Plan.
4. Demonstrated success to establish meaningful relationships with families, students and community to improve student outcomes. 
  
General Selection Criteria 
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
