An exciting opportunity for an experienced school leader who has had successful experience of strengthening and shaping the identity of a school with tangible improvements to academic outcomes and the broader development of students, creating material growth in enrolment. 

NACE seeks an outstanding candidate who will help shape the strategic direction of this busy and dynamic school.

Founded in 1895, Stonar School is located in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside, close to Bath. Since 2011 Stonar School has been coeducational, now with 400 boys and girls through the school.

Stonar School joined NACE Schools in 2012 and was the first school in the UK to become a member of NACE’s international network. Since then, Stonar School has become one of NACE’s primary residential summer school destinations and forms an integral part of the group’s International Exchange Programme.

The post is for September 2019 and commands a generous salary with other significant benefits.

The Board of Governors are looking to appoint a Head who will:

  • be an outstanding leader of learning, setting high expectations for all
  • develop a clear and distinctive proposition for the school and be able to market the school to create a growing school roll, whilst having a natural flair for communication, PR and networking
  • have personal integrity, effective intelligence when making decisions and the ability to lead and motivate a community of professional staff, whilst also engaging with the NACE leadership
  • have a good understanding of a school’s P&L and act as a strong operational manager
