Newington College is a leading independent, non-selective GPS day and boarding school for boys. Newington is an accredited International Baccalaureate World School, offering the Primary Years Programme and IB Diploma Programme.

Established in 1863, Newington College has always been open to boys of all faiths and enjoys a diverse and inclusive culture catering for approximately 2,000 students. Associated with the Uniting Church in Australia, Newington has a proud liberal tradition of education, first class facilities, and an excellent reputation for enabling each student to develop his academic, physical, creative, spiritual and leadership potential, in a supportive and caring environment. Year 12 leavers graduate with the IB Diploma or Higher School Certificate or Vocational Pathway accreditation.

With the retirement of Dr David Mulford at the end of 2018, after 10 years of distinguished service and dynamic leadership, the College Council invites outstanding applicants to apply for the position of 19th Headmaster of Newington College, effective 1 January 2019.

The successful applicant will be a distinguished educator committed to academic excellence and the provision of a well-rounded education for boys, with a demonstrated track record in educational administration. The new Headmaster must also be a visionary leader and a role model for staff and boys, with the energy, capacity and resilience to motivate and inspire all members of the College community. The position offers the successful candidate the opportunity to lead a pre-eminent Australian boys’ school.
