Tes is supporting the appointment of a Headteacher to join a Independent School based in Ealing.

Starting Salary: £73,511 to £80,475 per annum (dependent on experience)

Contract: Permanent; Term time + 3 weeks

Have you been successful in leading a school, providing therapeutic education to support vulnerable young people with neurodiverse identities thrive?

Do you make evidence based decisions to drive successful outcomes for your school?

They are seeking a highly experienced Headteacher to lead their independent specialist school in North West London, providing effective leadership, coaching and direction to a multi-disciplinary team delivering sector leading specialist therapeutic education.

In this role you will champion their organisation's values, modelling high expectations and ensuring staff deliver high quality teaching, inclusivity, positive behaviours for learning, social, emotional & independence skills development, and a healthy & safe school community. You will lead your staff team to provide all opportunities possible to allow their vulnerable and complex young pupils to thrive, gain qualifications and become successful independent adults and leaders.

You will provide expertise in holistic child focussed solutions, ensuring strong senior management and accountability, so that all your staff, pupils and parents/carers have the right resources, knowledge and skills to ensure effective pupil progress, a passion for life-long learning and career development, with the skills to positively influence their community and society.

Essential requirements to be successful in the role are:

  • Resilient and robust, role modelling outstanding teaching and professionalism.
  • Substantial headteacher experience within specialist therapeutic education provisions or specialist schools, managing multi-disciplinary teams of educators, clinicians and social workers.
  • Proven experience of positive performance management & developing teams, inclusive of coaching and influencing staff to deliver innovative ways of working and teaching.
  • Proven skills in operating at a strategic level as a collaborative and supportive member of a senior team, actively engaging in decision making leading to positive pupil progress and business outcomes.
  • Experience of driving inclusive education initiatives to support best practice with vulnerable and complex groups.
  • Proven skills in coaching & mentoring.
  • Commercially astute and solutions focused.
  • Proactive and innovative, collaborating with team members in other disciplines, whilst also with the ability to work flexibly and independently.
