We are looking for a Headteacher to join Heath Farm School in Ashford, Kent. Heath Farm lies in a spacious rural setting near Ashford, and attracts pupils from across Kent, neighbouring counties and parts of London, because of its growing reputation for success. 

We are an independent co-educational, day school for 80 pupils from 5-18 years old who for a variety of reasons have not been able to sustain mainstream education: pupils have social, emotional and behavioural difficulties and a range of additional learning difficulties. With modern, well-resourced classroom pods, the expertise of the dedicated staff team ensures that each child can put past failures behind them in a calm and settled atmosphere. Each student is motivated through a personalised curriculum and clear targets.


About the Role

This is your chance to join a high achieving team at Acorn Care and Education – the single largest private sector provider of specialist education and care services to local authorities across England, Scotland and Wales. You will work and to with the Assistant Director of Acorn Care and Education, in sustaining the Schools outstanding performance and ratings.

As Headteacher, you will promote a relentless focus on the quality of education and delivery of a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum that meets the needs of children and young people and produces positive outcomes. A place at Heath Farm School will ensure improvements in behaviour, confidence and self-belief, which can then be transferred into appropriate and accelerated learning inside the classroom and beyond. At the School we offer a flexible, personalised, engaging skills based curriculum providing both choice and challenge focused on developing emotional literacy, core subject knowledge and offering a wide range of accredited outcomes.

Working with your Deputy Headteacher you will ensure the school’s effective management and the required team capability to continually improve. You will be joining a high achieving company and executive team, leading your own school and positively impacting the lives of many young people. As part of our team you will focus on developing self-esteem and well-being, as well as academic performance and development.


Who are we looking for?

We are looking to hear from experienced Headteachers or rising Senior Leaders with experience of inspiring multi-disciplinary teams to deliver outstanding learning for children and young people with special education needs.

The successful candidate will bring a creative and innovative approach to improving performance and support for our pupils and their families. An excellent communicator, you will act as an ambassador for Heath Farm School and will have demonstrable experience of working in partnership with parents, commissioners, local authorities and other stakeholders.
