Our current Head is retiring at Christmas and we need a highly skilled, ambitious and resilient individual who will be a proven leader, with experience of whole school improvement.

As an accomplished classroom practitioner, your teaching will have consistently realised excellent student outcomes, and you will have the credibility and integrity to act as a role model within our community.

In order to succeed in the post, you must be willing to support, promote and fully embed our Christian vision and its associated values. In addition, you will be required to drive our ambition to achieve‘Outstanding’ at our next SIAMS inspection. You will have experience of leading and developing teams, creating a culture of high expectation and have knowledge of systems and protocols for robust Quality Assurance, evaluation and monitoring.

Welcome

We would like to offer you a warm welcome to the school Micklefield Church of England (VC) School is a small village school, situated in the centre of Micklefield and enjoying views across open fields. We are proud of our warm, safe, friendly and caring ethos. The school offers a high standard of education for children aged 2 to 11, delivered through a broad and balanced curriculum. Our school is a safe and happy place to be, offering everything each child needs to reach his or her full potential, both academically and through opportunities to discover and develop a wide range of other skills.

Our school has a wide range of facilities which enable us to offer a superb educational environment. We are well-resourced, having a large purpose-built indoor learning area and an extensive outdoor play area for our Pre-Nursery, Nursery and Reception children; indoor and outdoor areas of provision combined with more formal teaching for Class 2; a large hall and two playgrounds for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 children as well as a spacious school field.

We value our links with parents, the Church and the village community, and we maintain these through an open door approach for parents and governors, combined with involvement in joint events with the Church and the village.
