Notre Dame Catholic CollegeLiverpool

Date posted:
Start date: September 2019
Contract type: Full Time
Salary: Group 6: ISR L29-L35 + additional 4 incremental points
Contract term: Permanent

The vacancy arises from the retirement of Mrs Frances Harrison after 10 years of exceptional leadership.

Notre Dame Catholic College was founded in 1869 under the trusteeship of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur and has served an inner-city area of significant social and economic disadvantage with distinction.   Formerly an all girls’ school, it is now fully coeducational and oversubscribed in all year groups.  The school relocated to a new building with state-of-the-art facilities in September 2013 and further improvements are planned to accommodate the increasing numbers of pupils on roll.   Liverpool Music Support Service, Resonate Music Education Hub, is based in the school and operates under the school’s governance and management.

The Governing Body invites applications from practising Catholic teachers who have a commitment to the vision and mission of the college and who can demonstrate the following:

  • an imaginative, inspirational and distributive approach to school leadership
  • a sustained record of success at a senior level in education
  • an understanding of the challenges of serving an inner-city area
  • an enthusiasm for collaborative working with a range of partners
  • the ability to build on and further improve measurable outcomes.

Further details and an application pack are available from Mrs J Ball, PA to the Headteacher, by email to recruitment@notredame.liverpool.sch.uk or from the school website at www.notredameliverpool.com

Informal visits to the school are welcomed prior to application and may be arranged by contacting Mrs J Ball at the school on 0151-330-5122.

Closing date for applications is Wednesday, 20 March at noon.

Shortlisting will take place on Wednesday, 27 March 2019.

Interviews are planned for Thursday and Friday, 25 and 26 April 2019.

The governing body and the Diocese are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young persons and the Headteacher must ensure that the highest priority is given to following the guidance and regulations to safeguard children and young people.  The successful candidate will be required to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure from the DBS.
