Benchill Primary School is a school for 3-11 year olds with 542 pupils on roll. The school is located in Wythenshawe, South Manchester with excellent tram and road transport links. The most recent Ofsted Inspection in September 2019 rated the school as Good in all areas.  

The school is in a culturally diverse area and celebrates the diversity of the school community. 28% of our children have English as an additional language. The school is in a deprived area, 67% of children now receive Free School Meals. 20% of children have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and there are 19 children with an Education Health and Care Plan.

Our school has a dedicated staff who are committed to ensuring that all children achieve in an active learning environment where children want to learn and want to succeed. Governors and staff aim to provide a school where children feel confident, safe, cared for and that stimulates their creativity and self-worth. 

 The current Headteacher will be retiring this year, and the Governors are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, dedicated and inspirational new Headteacher with a commitment to inclusion and continuous school improvement, to take up the post in September 2024.

We are seeking:

 

·        A new Headteacher who will demonstrate a strong commitment to promoting the ethos of the school, who will be approachable and visible around the school to children, staff, parents and carers.

·        An individual who will motivate, inspire and develop staff whilst also ensuring well-being is valued and promoted as a core value.

·        A leader whose motivation is children and helping them achieve to the best of their abilities and who understands individual children’s needs and the wide range of experiences and factors that can impact on their well-being and achievement.

 

Visits to the school are encouraged and will take place on Wednesday 27th March at 11.30am. Interviews and assessments will take place on Wednesday 24th and Thursday 25th April.
