Job overview

NOR: 465

The opportunity lies before us to create something very special for the community of Harleston. The journey ahead is not going to be without its challenges as we are looking to build something that many people find hard to imagine. However, for those who have the energy, vision and drive to make it succeed, this will transform the educational provision for many generations to come.

In 2018 Harleston CofE Primary Academy (HPA) and Archbishop Sancroft CofE High School (ASHS) and were founder members of the St Benet’s MAT with the Diocese of Norwich. The schools are just under a mile apart and have been working closely together very effectively as the main feeder school for ASHS.

In December 2019, the St Benet’s Trust Board agreed that the objective of becoming one allthrough school be achieved by September 2022 at the very latest. We are looking for an exceptional leader who understands the principles and benefits of an all-through school and has the energy, vision and drive to work with fellow senior leaders to make this happen.

You will be supported by St Benet’s Multi- Academy Trust and this provides you with:

  • peer to peer networking, collaboration, challenge and support
  • dedicated support from a key professional in our School Improvement Team
  • the security of working in a climate of shared accountability
  • investment in your professional development and future career
  • opportunities to contribute to the development of a growing organisation and trustwide improvement initiatives
  • access to a suite of core services that enable you to focus more on leading, teaching and learning
  • a research-based approach to academy improvement that builds capacity from within
  • a values-led approach that underpins the attitudes and behaviour of individuals and the family of Church academies

The post-holder will need to be able to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing in order to undertake the requirements of the role.

This post is likely to come under the requirements of the Childcare (Disqualification) 2009 Regulations and the successful applicant will be required to complete a declaration form to establish whether they are disqualified under these regulations.

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
