This is an excellent opportunity to continue to develop our Outstanding (Ofsted) infant school where we take great pride in our warm and nurturing learning environment. Our school is close to the centre of Harrogate and set in a beautiful, well-kept, recently extended Victorian building.
We have high expectations of all our children and endeavour to enable them each to achieve their potential. The curriculum we provide is broad and balanced, designed to develop children’s academic, social, emotional, physical and creative skills, providing each child with a secure foundation to all aspects of their development. The learning takes place both indoors and outdoors in stimulating environments.
We are part of Yorkshire Causeway Schools Trust and collaborate with the HART Alliance, York St John and Leeds universities, Harrogate College and a variety of local schools. Our PTA is strong and supportive, as is the governing body.
We are seeking to appoint a committed and experienced professional with a remit to lead the school in its next phase of development and continue to raise standards.
Able to effectively motivate inspire and influence pupils, staff and stakeholders, you will assume responsibility for all aspects of school life. This will include directing the school’s strategic planning, leading the development of the curriculum and delivering outstanding provision which meets the needs of all our young people.
To succeed, you must be a proven leader and manager with the ability to build on our success, maximise pupil numbers and deliver outstanding progress across the school community. An excellent communicator, you must have a good understanding of the needs and demands of a large infant school together with the skills needed to effectively influence stakeholders, particularly around collaboration.
In return, we can offer you strong support, the freedom to shape the future of the school as part of the Trust and the opportunity for your continued professional development.
Set in the heart of Yorkshire, Harrogate is a charming, fashionable, cosmopolitan, Victorian spa town on the doorstep of the Yorkshire Dales. With some of the best known attractions in North Yorkshire from gardens to castles, adventure centres to art galleries there is something for every taste and interest, every hobby and passion.
Ranked “Happiest place to live in the UK” by Rightmove for 3rd year running in 2015.
Harrogate boasts great transport links - Just 17 miles north of Leeds, 3 hours from London by train, close to the A1M and with ever increasing flight options from Leeds Bradford Airport.
