Salary: Six figure salary for a suitably experienced and qualified candidate.

Do you have the vision to define the future direction of the school? Will your input be the catalyst which inspires our students to follow their aspirations and achieve success as women of the future?

In a world where the agenda for women has progressed but is also still evolving, we want to equip our students with the self-confidence, creativity and resilience to become the inspiring women of the future. Looking forward, your vision and ambition could empower change within our school for the benefit of our next generation of talent.

We require a Headteacher who shares our values and will champion girls’ education. Always conscious of the challenges and opportunities faced by young people, you will ensure the school stays relevant, guiding it through the changes occurring in the wider community and society.

Northampton School for Girls (NSG) is an Ofsted Outstanding, state-funded, comprehensive school on the outskirts of the market town of Northampton. We celebrate the diversity of our multi-faith, multi-cultural student base and the mix of rural and urban communities which we serve.

NSG is a single academy trust and, as such, the Headteacher’s role has a level of autonomy and responsibility, reporting directly to the Academy Trustees. The Headteacher is also required to be the Accounting Officer, taking responsibility for financial and administrative matters, as per the funding agreement.

You will be experienced in resource management including, but not limited to, financial & human resources. You will be a strong collaborator and will have evidence of successful stakeholder engagement.

The Trustees of NSG are open to considering alternative models of Headteacher leadership, including, but not exclusive to, joint headship (provided that the applicant(s) meet the essential criteria set out in the person specification).

To have an initial private and confidential discussion regarding the role and the school please contact our recruitment partner, Chris Gartner from Hays Leadership on 07595 646 645 or via email to chris.gartner@hays.com

NSG offers a guaranteed interview to any applicant meeting the minimum criteria who declares a disability.

Closing Date:  Friday 10th of January at 9:00 am

Interviews to be held:  Monday 27th and Tuesday 28th of January  2020

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment and be familiar with the relevant school policies & guidance.

The successful applicant will be expected to undertake a criminal records check, via the Disclosure & Barring Service, the cost of which will be met by NSG.
Details of our safer recruitment policy can be found in the school policies section of our
website.
