We are looking for a Head Teacher with energy, passion and resilience to build on a culture of high expectations, achieving the best outcomes for all students.

The School: Stoke Damerel Primary Academy is a larger than average, mixed gender, inner city primary school, in Plymouth, that caters for pupils aged 4-11. It has grown over the last few years, has the capacity for 420 pupils and is two form entry.  The school is at the heart of the local community, in its wide and varied catchment area. The school consists of a wildlife area, three playground spaces, an Early Years outside play area and a large field for its pupils to access and use.

Our core school values are to help our pupils become well rounded, ambitious children who strive to reach their potential through the exciting opportunities and experiences we provide. We teach our children to develop life skills such as resilience, resourcefulness, relationships, reflectiveness and risk taking to achieve their dreams and aspirations.

Our vision is to be an outstanding school, delivering excellent results. We want to achieve this in harmony with all the other exciting things that our pupils, parents, teachers and support staff presently love about the school.

Background: Reach South is a young and developing Trust which operates across the South West of England with the aim of delivering all through 3-19 education. We operate 13 academies in Plymouth, Bournemouth, Dorset and Wiltshire

We are building this Trust on a clear set of values, behaviours and curriculum principles. At the heart of those values and principles is a belief in our young people and a determination to support them to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes to become the successful citizens for today and all of their tomorrows. Our vision is to enable individual academies to flourish with curriculum autonomy, within a consistent framework of a metacognition focused pedagogy.  We are committed to collaboration with other schools, MATs, colleges, Local Authorities, employers and Government to bring the widest benefit to young people and our staff.

Our core business is delivering exceptional education for children and young people with a mission to help all pupils aspire to achieve beyond the expectations that others put on them. We do this through the development of a talented and committed work force. In order to deliver exceptional opportunities for learning, we need highly motivated staff across all parts of the organisation. Therefore, we are looking for an outstanding individual to lead Stoke Damerel Primary Academy and play a wider role in shaping the Trust along with our other educational leaders.
