Plymouth High School for Girls is a vibrant and highly regarded Grammar School set in the heart of Plymouth. It has been providing quality education for over 100 years and has a distinguished place within the city. The school is consistently high performing and provides a caring and supportive ethos for its pupils.

The school motto “For life we learn not school” is a key value which students, staff, parents and the community understand. Our curriculum is varied and offers pupils real opportunity to excel and progress in many areas of their choice, including a wide variety of extra -curricular opportunities. We have a lively 6th form which is developing a reputation for quality and academic excellence.

We are seeking a Headteacher for September 2019 who can lead the school into its next phase of development; someone who can take the existing strengths further and build a successful future that is reflective to past successes.

Plymouth High School for Girls is a City selective Grammar school with a good reputation for providing an engaging curriculum within a supportive and encouraging environment.  Students are happy at our school and enjoy the benefits of well taught and engaging lessons along with extensive extra-curricular opportunities.   We are a small school with a friendly feel where people work flexibly and collaboratively to give our students the best possible experience.
