St Michael’s Church of England High School is seeking an exceptional candidate to lead this over-subscribed 11-18 mixed comprehensive school within the Liverpool Diocesan Schools Trust supported by the Diocese of Liverpool. The retiring Headteacher brought about significant changes to ensure that pupils make good progress and a vision for excellence is central the school’s teaching and learning approach. Pupils at St Michael’s make good progress at every level and academic excellence is central to the school’s teaching and learning approach. SEND provision is excellent and the school’s latest OFSTED report identified the good foundations that are already in place for continuing development. The role of St Michael’s in the community is such that Year 7 is significantly oversubscribed from the local population whilst the growing Sixth Form sets high standards of academic achievement through an innovative curriculum.

About You

Whether you are an experienced Headteacher or are embarking on your first step into this role, you will need a strong track record of working in and making a difference to an inspirational learning community with a genuine, inspirational, Christian leadership approach. You will demonstrate experience of knowledge curriculum development. You will have a good understanding of how to involve the whole school community in a shared educational journey to attain high levels of excellence. Your Christian faith and values will underpin all your efforts and actions, including your commitment to our families and the wider community.
