Job overview

Group 1 NOR - 88

Welbourn Church of England Primary lies in a beautiful village just off the main road between Lincoln and Grantham. We are a four class primary school that attracts children from surrounding villages because of its strong reputation for being a nurturing creative family school. We are particularly proud that Ofsted noted that our children are: “impeccably behaved and keen to learn”  (March 2017)

At Welbourn we aim to promote and develop Christian attitudes throughout the school, enabling children to make informed decisions and become aware and be tolerant of other cultures and religions.  Our school mission statement, “trying our best to be our best,” provides a framework whereby we put children at the centre of all that we do and value aspirations, resilience and independent learning.  It has at its heart our Christian focus and our desire to see children grow and develop their God given potential as part of a loving school community.

After a period of unavoidable turbulence, we are looking for a leader who is an outstanding teacher to build on the foundations of change established by our Interim Heads to improve upon our recent Ofsted inspection which found that the school ‘requires improvement’.

Our ideal candidate will be someone who is an aspiring or existing Headteacher with significant experience in a school that has recently successfully moved from RI to Outstanding. This is not an office- based role. The school has a highly qualified Business Leader, ensuring that the Headteacher can concentrate on teaching and learning. This is a job for a highly skilled, up to date leader of teaching and learning who can get the best out of everyone.

Our Governing Body is highly supportive and is looking to work collaboratively with the successful candidate to make rapid improvement and move our school from Requires to Improvement to Good, to Outstanding.

Come and see for yourself, meet our amazing children, walk the site and appreciate the potential oozing from every corner of the school. If you have the vision and know how to make this school the sparkling gem it should be, then contact Jackie Dwane, Administrator, on 01400 272798 to arrange a visit.

Welbourn Church of England Primary School promotes diversity and equal opportunities and so welcome applications from all.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and operate Enhanced DBS safeguarding procedures in accordance with our safeguarding policies.

Applicants are advised that they will be required to comply with these procedures as part of any recruitment process.

Closing date 12 noon on the 19th March 2018. Interviews are planned to take place on the 26th March 2018 Please visit our school website where you will find more information www.welbournprimary.co.uk
