Job overview

Are you an inspiring primary teacher with substantial leadership experience?

Due to the retirement of our current headteacher, an opportunity has arisen to lead our forward-thinking and very successful school.

A superb teaching practitioner, you will lead by example and have a thorough understanding of modern primary educational thinking. You’ll recognise our strengths, build on things we do well and help us to address areas for improvement. Our ‘Good’ Ofsted report in July 2017 captured our many exceptional qualities and we continue to flourish.

We are seeking someone who is creative, innovative and engaging, and who will help us raise standards further throughout this aspirational school. You’ll be working with an experienced, hard-working staff, a committed Governing Body and a supportive parent community. Our enthusiastic children love learning and thrive in our school environment.

We warmly welcome visits. Please contact Pippa Wickenden on 0118 969 1556 or by emailing admin@willowbank-jun.wokingham.sch.uk if you would like to visit us.

A candidate information brochure and an application form are available to download from the school website: www.willowbankjunior.com/vacancies

Closing date: Tuesday 31st March 2020 at 12pm (noon).

Interviews: Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd April 2020.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to enhanced DBS checks.

Welcome to Willow Bank Junior School.  It is our privilege to teach the wonderful children who come to our school, and we aim to provide a rich learning experience which gives the children the opportunity to develop their strengths and skills in a wide range of ways.  We believe in the whole child, and that children's academic learning is enhanced not just by what goes on in the classroom, but also by the many other aspects which make up school life.

We want every child to feel proud of who they are, and the best way to promote this is to hold the children in high regard, to treat them with courtesy and respect.  We are very fortunate to be so well supported by our parents and wider school community, and we all work together to help the children become the very best they can be.

This website contains important information about the school, and we hope you will find it useful and easy to navigate.  However, web pages can only ever show part of the story which we are so proud to tell; as the old saying goes, nothing beats being there.  So, you are always welcome to come and visit the school if you would like to see how things described on this website are experienced by the children in their day-to-day life here at Willow Bank Junior School.
