Health & Safety Officer & Compliance Co-ordinator
St Albans School is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and motivated Health & Safety professional who will be responsible for the management, implementation and development of all aspects of health and safety, including fire safety, within the School and its subsidiary operations. In addition, the post holder will work closely with internal stakeholders, and where appropriate, external consultants to ensure compliance with data protection legislation and in conjunction School senior managers, co-ordinate School wide regulatory compliance (including the Independent Schools Inspectorate regulations).
The role would ideally suit someone with a strong background in health and safety management, with an associated qualification (preferably NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety). Experience of health and safety within a school environment would be beneficial as would experience of co-ordinating and advising on wider school regulatory matters and a detailed understanding of data protection requirements (including the 2018 GDPR).
Successful candidates will possess excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to engage proactively with key staff at all levels along with exceptional planning and organisational skills and an ability to operate strategically.
This is a full time position based at the School site in St Albans however, flexibility with working hours and occasional travel to other School sites is required.
