Job overview

We seek to appoint a passionate, enthusiastic and experienced High Level Teaching Assistant, to join our two form entry friendly primary school. Our children are happy and well-behaved and you will be part of a positive environment, with dedicated and supportive colleagues, who strive for excellence.

The successful candidate will work in partnership with class teachers to support learning in line with the national curriculum, codes of practice and school policies and procedures.

The HLTA works under the direction and control of the Headteacher, and that general authority will be delegated to the SENCo. At all times the HLTA will work subject to the direction of a teacher within an agreed system and supervision and management. The position is part time (27.5 hours per week) and temporary for one year.

What You Can Offer Us:

  • Meet HLTA standards or equivalent qualification or experience
  • Demonstrate levels of numeracy &literacy equivalent to GCSE (A-C)
  • IT skills to support learning and maintain information
  • Ability to plan effectively and manage time to enable multi-tasking
  • Ability to successfully work in a team with fantastic communication skills to communicate with teachers and parents
  • Ability to supervise pupils effectively
  • Understand and be adaptable to pupils with additional SEN needs
  • A sense of humour
