Unity through Diversity

Atlas Academy is located in central Doncaster in South Yorkshire.

We currently have about 420 pupils on roll and fifteen classes throughout the school: Morning and Afternoon Nursery and 2 classes in each year group from Reception to Year 6.

The school is on an exciting improvement journey with its leaders committed to a clear plan for future success. We use strong initiatives such as a tightly coherent phonics scheme, a knowledge rich curriculum and incremental coaching to support improving pedagogy.

A committed staff team are working hard to ensure good practice is embedded into Atlas. We have high expectations of each other and our pupils: we want the pupils of Atlas Academy to be confident, capable, resilient and independent learners. We expect our children to foster a love of learning and want them to be aspirational and motivated across all areas of the school’s curriculum.

We strive to:

  • create an emotionally safe and secure environment where pupil diversity is respected and promoted;
  • improve attendance to in line with, or above, national expectation;
  • remove barriers to learning and diminish the difference between disadvantaged/vulnerable pupil groups’ achievement;
  • increase our rates of academic progress to in-line with national average;
  • instill positive pupil behaviour and attitudes to learning and relationships.

Our Vision:

Unity through Diversity
