Job overview

We are looking for two passionate and talented practitioners to join our dedicated team working within the Learning Support Department as HLTA’s.

The successful candidates will be part of a team of Learning Support Assistants based within our primary academy - King’s Academy Oakwood (KAO) and our all-through academy-King’s Academy Binfield (KAB). You would be predominately based in either the primary or secondary phase but there might be occasional times where you are needed to support in the opposing phase.

Our new HLTA’s will plan and lead work for small groups of children, offer 1:1 support, support with SEND paperwork and cover classes as and when needed. Experience of working with students with SEND would be an advantage. The HLTA will share the academy's vision and the belief that all young people can achieve. Other necessary qualities include confidentiality, efficiency and being able to work on your own initiative and under pressure and a willingness to contribute to the wider life of King’s Academy Binfield (KAB) and King’s Academy Oakwood (KAO).

KAB opened in a superb building in September 2018 with 120 Year 7 students. In September 2019 a further 150 Year 7 students, 30 Year R students and 21 Year N students joined the academy. Also in September 2019, KAO, a brand new 1 FE primary school a mile away, opened with Year R and a mixed Year 1/2. KAB and KAO will continue to grow year on year to a roll of over 1800 students, aged 3-18. Both academies will be run cohesively sharing the same staff, values, curriculum, opportunities and expectations of excellence.

The post is for 33.45 hours per week (term time only). Hours of work will be 8.15am – 3.30pm Monday to Friday. Flexibility to work additional days during the holidays may be required. There is also the possibility of working with our wrap around care provider (Funtastic Kids) supporting the running of a breakfast club and an after school club https://funtastickids.co.uk.

King’s Academy Binfield and King’s Academy Oakwood are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young students and expects all staff to share this commitment. The successful applicant will need to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.

King's Academy Binfield is a new all-through school within The Kings Group Academies.

Our mission is to provide high quality education within a small community of outstanding schools in the UK that will deliver a transformative learning experience to all our students within the context of a global community of schools.

KGA has at its core the pursuit of the very highest standards both inside the classroom and beyond. We believe all students can exceed their expectations no matter what their prior attainment and experience. In a KGA academy no student will be labelled, we will treat them all as intelligent individuals. Through our ethos, our extended curriculum, our entrepreneurial approach and international dimension, we will ensure students develop into confident, rounded individuals, equipped for life in an ever changing world.

We pride ourselves on listening and responding to the needs of our partner schools and guarantee any school within KGA the opportunity to help shape the future development of our MAT. In a King’s Group Academy, pupils will be able to achieve their personal ambitions and academic goals, with the added advantage and motivation of working alongside peers from other King’s schools around the world.

At KGA our aim is to build clusters of excellence, blending the best of British education with the experience and success gained in our international King’s Group schools. We see staff as our most valuable resource and our innovative approach to CPD enables them to fulfil their career potential, as well as prepare our pupils for a successful future.

King’s Group was founded nearly 50 years ago by Sir Roger Fry and includes nine outstanding schools both abroad and in the UK. With this excellent foundation, King’s Group Academies has been invited by the DfE to develop a MAT and use the expertise of our team to build and provide ongoing support to small networks of outstanding academies.

We share a determination to make a positive difference to the future of our young people, their families and the wider community, as well as to the careers of our staff. This is your invitation to join us.
