Values and vision
Newcastle High School for Girl’s aim is to provide a safe and welcoming learning environment where girls feel challenged and inspired to achieve their full potential. It follows the four core values of girls first, networked, bold and principled. The secondary school wants girls to feel that there is nothing they can’t achieve if they put their mind to it, and nurtures them as hard working, confident and resilient individuals. Newcastle High School offers learners a broad and balanced curriculum to provide girls with the skills, knowledge and experience to thrive in their future life and education. The school wants all girls to feel valued and cared for, while demonstrating respect and kindness to others, establishing lasting friendships and contributing to the school and wider community as active and positive citizens.
Academic rigour and exceptional teaching and learning are at the heart of an NHSG education. We offer an exciting curriculum delivered by inspirational teachers who are experts in the ways that girls learn best. And this doesn't stop at the classroom door. In fact, every minute of every day is packed full of learning opportunities. Our co-curriculum combines with our curriculum so that each girl has the opportunity to learn new skills, broaden her horizons and have a lot of fun along the way. The strong community and warm atmosphere created by our all-girl school provides the perfect environment for girls to gain confidence and excel.
Independent Schools Inspectorate
“The quality of the pupils’ overall achievements and of their learning, attitudes and skills is outstanding throughout the school. It meets very well the school’s aims to enable girls of all abilities to develop their intellectual curiosity, to become skilled and independent learners and to achieve their full potential.”
