Parkwood Hall School is a Special Needs Residential provision for students with moderate to severe learning difficulties.  The children and young people are at the heart of everything we do.  Our aim is to provide an outstanding and supportive learning environment which challenges students to achieve success.

Due to an increase in pupil numbers attending the school we need to recruit a highly qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant to meet this demand.  The successful candidate will join a school where we invest in our staff and create skilled class teams.

This is an important role, leading a team of staff in the support and development of the day time educational environment for students.  This involves working closely with class teachers and the senior leadership team to plan and support the students’ learning, including social skills, life and independent skills and personal development.  The HLTAs manage the Senior Teaching Assistants and through them a team of around twenty Teaching Assistants.

Applicants will be expected to hold a relevant HLTA qualification, have experience of working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs and be able to demonstrate an ability to make a positive contribution to education management and organisation.  Experience of managing others is desirable.

The core hours for this post are between 8.30am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday.

The position is for 36 hours per week, 39 weeks per year, term time + INSET days.
