Job overview
Our salaries will not be pro rata’d to take out the school holidays.
A helping hand from you. A headstart for them.
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant at Chilworth House Upper School, you’ll have a key role to play in the development of our pupils. We want all our young people to have the best chance of success in life, and the right support in the classroom can really make an enormous difference. The young people in our schools have social, emotional, mental health and complex learning needs that call for extra dedication. As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you have to be understanding and committed. Help them progress and you’ll have every opportunity to do the same with your career.
The Role
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you’ll be working directly with the young people in the classroom every day. You’ll help them learn, monitor their work and help raise their self-esteem. As your skills are well developed, you will have additional duties, such as helping with planning meetings, working without supervision and liaising with teachers to devise complementary learning activities. Above all, you’ll need to be resilient and dedicated to the wellbeing of our young people.
Your Profile
With your previous experience in a Teaching Assistant role and your NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, and HLTA qualification, you’ll have up-to-date knowledge of welfare and safeguarding practices within Education. We need you to build great relationships with all our young people, so you can motivate them to do well and be the best that they can be. If you’re emotionally strong and good in a team, we can offer a role with exciting prospects. There are occasional meetings outside school hours, which your attendance will be required.
