Skinners’ Academy is a dynamic, popular and high achieving academy in Hackney, London.
It supports boys and girls aged 11-19 to “Be the best they can” as a whole individual, by; providing an excellent education, enriching activities and supporting the wellbeing of all pupils in a modern state of the art building.
We are seeking to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support the Academy’s SEN Department by providing teaching (1:1 and groups) in addressing the literacy needs of pupils who require specialised input to overcome barriers to learning.
By working under the instruction/guidance of the SENCO and other teaching/senior staff you will complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for raising the literacy achievement of students with SEND.
Please note this post allows substantial access to children. Therefore, in accordance with our Safer Recruitment Policy the successful candidate will be required to apply for, and hold, an enhanced DBS (Disclosure & Barring Services) certificate. The Academy will arrange this for you prior to you taking up your post.
