We are looking for a committed, enthusiastic and high calibre Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our energetic and dynamic team. We are looking for a confident and flexible HLTA who is happy to both teach and also be able to provide admin support for inclusion. The position will also include running interventions and some short-term cover work should the need arise. This is an exciting new post within the school and one that we hope sit alongside our work on

 

This role will comprise of both teaching elements and administrative support for inclusion. This may be varied; it will include working alongside the Inclusion Lead or Assistant Head Teachers to ensure all revenant administrative components are completed in a timely and effective manner to ensure the best possible provision for the most vulnerable.

 

This role will be one that evolves with the right candidate; we are looking for people who understand and are confident to teach who may also want to experience or support in an inclusion role post. This requires people who are organised, can prioritise, have good communication skills, and have an eye for detail. We are hoping this role will suit someone who may already have experience in SEND or someone who is willing to train into this area. This would ideally suit someone with a passion or previous experience in either teaching or in the field of SEND.

 

This post will suit a practitioner who has high expectations of themselves and their pupils and who is ambitious and driven to deliver on outcomes, both academically and in developing the whole child. We are looking to appoint a practitioner who has a passion for improving the life chances of children. The successful candidate will be self-driven and a strong team player. A* to C grades in GCSE English and mathematics are essential.

Main responsibilities:

  • Cover lessons should the need arise
  • Demonstrate an informed and efficient approach to teaching and learning by adopting relevant strategies to support the work of the teacher and increase achievement of all pupils including, where appropriate, those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
  • To support the planning, delivery and administration of specialist support for children with SEND (Special Educational Needs) and SEMH (social emotional and mental health needs) under the guidance of the Inclusion Lead.
  • To deliver a range of high quality targeted interventions to support pupils with their academic and personal progress as directed by the Inclusion Lead or Assistant Head Teachers
  • To support pupils to develop their communication skills, social skills, independent study skills and self-management techniques through specific interventions with guidance from the Inclusion Lead/ Assistant Head Teachers
The ideal candidate will need enthusiasm, a strong moral compass and high expectations. We are happy to hear from candidates with a strength in either aspect if they feel they may not be as strong across both areas.
