Required for October 2017, Teacher of History (temporary maternity cover) to join our highly successful History Department.

Camden is a successful and oversubscribed inner London comprehensive secondary school.  We have been identified in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 by government ministers as one of the top 100 schools in the country. The school has also been described as “outstanding” by Ofsted.

Requirements

Our criteria for selection will be evidence of:

  • Good honours graduate with a qualification to teach History at KS3 and KS4 level, and a History, Politics or Sociology at AS/A2 Level.                    
  • Successful experience of teaching History in a comprehensive school, which could include teaching practice 
  • Evidence of further study or training (not required for NQTs)
  • An understanding of current curriculum issues in History education
  • The ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing
  • Sympathy with the aims and ethos of the school
  • An understanding of, and a commitment to carrying out, equal opportunities policies
  • A commitment to participate in extra-curricular activities

About The Camden School for Girls

Located in Camden, north-west London, The Camden School for Girls is a single-sex secondary school, offering places to girls aged 11-18. With around 1,000 students, the school has an extremely diverse student intake, reflective of the local community.

First established as a grammar school in 1871, The Camden School for Girls later became a comprehensive. Although the school is girls-only in Years 7-11, the substantial sixth form is co-educational and accepts a large number of its students from other schools in the local area.
