Job overview

37 hours per week (Term Time only plus INSET days)

As the largest primary school in the country, we are excited to be recruiting for a variety of roles to meet the needs of our rapid expansion. Following on from our recent successful Ofsted judgment (February 2015) we are seeking ambitious values driven professionals who are willing to work with us in our expansion and support us in driving forward the agenda for social equality and excellent provision for our children.

Are you passionate about providing good quality support to children? Can you work across the primary age range? Claycots School Partnership requires an HLTA to join our highly effective team of HLTAs. We are looking for qualified, motivated and ambitious support staff members to lead Teaching Assistants in school, work with children in identified groups (such as SEN and Pupil Premium) and have the ability to cover whole class learning, using the planning provided by the class teacher. This varied and flexible work would see you working throughout the school.

You will be an excellent role model for our pupils, promote our LIVE values within school, and will work as part of the Inclusion team to ensure the best learning experiences for the children. You will be striving to support all children to achieve their maximum potential, wherever the barriers to learning may be.

Experience of leading a team focussed on the learning outcomes for children is also desirable, you will be responsible for the day to day management and development of your team of Teaching Assistants. You must be able to deliver high quality interventions to pupil groups and support your team to do the same. The successful candidates will be able to talk about how they can motivate and energise their team to achieve the best outcomes for children.

A good knowledge and experience of working in a classroom setting previously is also essential, as is a good understanding of the National Curriculum and how to support children’s learning. You must be able to plan and organise your own workload effectively in response to the needs of the school.

The successful candidates will hold HLTA status or hold the NVQ Level 3 diploma in supporting teaching and learning in schools. A good level of English, Maths and ICT is essential as you will be required to teach classes of children up to the age of 11.
