We are looking for an existing SENDCo or Assistant SENDco with drive, resilience and a strong understanding of SEND to join our successful and supportive team. This unique role is essential in ensuring pupils, as far as their health permits, engage in their statutory entitlement to education removing any barriers to their learning. Please consider the job description and person specification carefully. 

Key aspects of this varied role will include

  • supporting teachers in understanding guidance and interventions for pupils with SEND
  • representing the school and pupils at multidisciplinary ward meetings
  • providing support and guidance to children, young people and their families
  • liaising and information sharing between families, teachers, home schools and LAs
  • delivering and/or supporting teaching on wards or in schoolroom

At the Children's Hospital School at GOSH & UCH we aim to provide an enriching and enjoyable experience for all our pupils, which ensures normality through education and helps to prevent anxiety about school.
