Grade 4 £18,795 - £19,945 pro rata. Actual £16,178 - £17,178                  

37 hours per week (term time plus 2 weeks)
Required for a September 2020 start

We are seeking to appoint an HR Administration Assistant to provide an efficient and effective administration support service within school.   

The role will be varied but includes:

• To record staff absences and organise and co-ordinate necessary supply cover as directed by Senior Leadership Team and update SIMS.net accordingly.

• To maintain the school absence diary.

• To be responsible for the notification of room changes by using sims and the room booking system.

• To input all staff payroll changes and pay claims.

• You will also work under the guidance of the HR manager to provide administration support for the recruitment, selection and induction process including vacancy advertising, shortlisting applications, interview process and pre-employment checks.


The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 GCSEs in English and Maths or equivalent level of qualification.  You should have experience of undertaking routine clerical tasks, be competent in the use of a variety of ICT software, excellent communication skills and produce accurate work within set deadlines.   


An approachable, flexible attitude and the ability to deal with confidential information is essential and previous experience of working in a school HR environment would be desirable.

Golborne High School, a co-educational secondary school of around 1,200 pupils, is located near to Wigan, Greater Manchester. Providing places for pupils aged 11-16, Golborne High is a foundation cooperative trust school, forming a key part of the GoalCo Trust, a network of schools and colleges situated in and around Wigan.

The GoalCo cooperative was established in 2010, but the secondary school itself first opened its doors in 1954.
