Queen’s College, Taunton is one of the leading independent boarding schools based in the south-west of the country, educating approximately 750 boys and girls from age 0 to 18. There are four boarding houses accommodating over 200 boarders. The school has around 300 permanent staff split approximately 50/50 between academic and support staff. The school is part of the Methodist Independent School Trust (MIST).

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join the School as a part time HR Manager to provide a comprehensive HR service to all parts of the School. The successful candidate will need to have the knowledge, confidence and skill to lead, influence and advise staff of all levels on matters of HR and to continue to develop and oversee HR strategy, policy and practice. 

Reporting to the Bursar and working closely with the Head Teachers of both the Senior and Junior School, the post holder will be responsible for advising them on all aspects of HR including regulatory compliance and other legal issues relating to the management of the school’s employees, ensuring effective recruitment, development, retention and motivation of all employees and that appropriate records are maintained. 

Educated to degree level and CIPD qualified, the successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading HR functions. Experience of working within a school environment would be useful.
