Our friendly and welcoming team at our Biggleswade Campus, have an opportunity for an experienced Humanities Teacher to join the team on a full time, permanent basis. The role will include teaching Citizenship, Geography and History to our students across KS3, KS4 and KS5. We are looking for motivated, well-qualified and outstanding individuals, who can continue to inspire and enthuse our students to achieve at the highest levels whilst supporting the development of all learners.

Key Responsibilities:

• To have an up to date knowledge and understanding of the professional duties of teachers and the statutory framework within which you work.

• Creating a climate for learning that is conducive for excellent practice

• Identifying clear teaching and learning objectives 

• Differentiating to provide support for students with SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities) and challenge for those who are gifted and talented

• Using a variety of teaching strategies to motivate and challenge students, and ensure high levels of interest

• Developing approaches to Self-Directed Learning and use technology to support learning

• Using a variety of teaching strategies to motivate and challenge students, and ensure high levels of interest

• Produce reports for parents in line with the school calendar

• Contribute to subject development by producing, reviewing and updating curriculum plans and schemes of work

• Establish effective working relationships with colleagues and set an outstanding example to stakeholders through personal and professional conduct

You will

• Possess recent experience of teaching Humanities to students from KS3 – KS5 

• Be highly motivated and an excellent classroom practitioner

• Have an up to date knowledge of the KS3 – KS5 National Curriculum and assessment framework, including exam specifications 

• Be an experienced teacher or an exceptional NQT

• Enjoy being part of a supportive team

• Be caring and enthusiastic
