Job overview

37 hours per week all year round

We are looking to appoint an ICT Network Manager for an immediate start. This is an exciting opportunity within our Multi Academy Trust, which currently has one member academy but aims to grow by 1-2 academies in each of the next 3-4 years. The position will be based at The Halifax Academy, the only 4-16 all-through school in Calderdale. In September 2017 we will have 1,160 pupils learning within this academy across five buildings on the Wellesley Park site, and this will grow to 1,420 by 2020 when our new primary phase building is full.

The successful candidate will be required to lead and manage a team to procure, operate, maintain and develop ICT systems and services. The post holder will be responsible for managing the network, the technical infrastructure, its support services, and to ensure the best and most fit-for-purpose ICT systems are reliably available to underpin effective teaching and learning.

In the wider trust when member schools propose to join Impact MAT, the postholder will contribute to the due diligence process by reviewing ICT systems and evaluating technical risk, and coordinating ongoing support to member academies according to their individual needs. This really is an excellent opportunity to join a growing organisation.

In return we can offer:

  • working as part of a creative and supportive team, who are determined and driven in our mission to achieve the very best for our pupils
  • effective, supportive, and dynamic leadership
  • an opportunity to develop and grow within an expanding Trust
  • enthusiastic pupils who are keen to make outstanding progress

Application forms and further details can be downloaded from the Academy’s website at

www.thehalifaxacademy.org.

Completed applications should be emailed to recruitment@thehalifaxacademy.org or posted to The Halifax Academy by Tuesday 29 August. Late applications will not be accepted. Interviews will take place in early September.

The Halifax Academy is a high performing 4-16 all-through Academy in Calderdale, West Yorkshire. It was inspected by Ofsted in September 2017 being judged as good in all areas. Outcomes are outstanding at KS4 and place the academy in the top 15% of all schools nationally with regard to progress. Early Years Provision is good.

The Halifax Academy is a founding member of Impact Education Multi Academy Trust. Established in 2016, Impact is a values driven organisation with a belief that working collaboratively and sharing ideas can achieve real impact on the education and life chances of children and young people.

Our staff and trustees are unwaveringly ambitious for students, our families, our community and our staff. Our purpose is very clear; we are on a mission to improve social mobility for the disadvantaged and the life chances of children and young people.

The academy invests in its people, retaining prestigious Investors in People ‘Gold Standard' for the last five years. This recognises our commitment to creating a workplace where staff feel valued, share a strong sense of purpose and where their talents and hard work are celebrated. Staff are surrounded by highly supportive teams, systems and structures.

We expect a great deal from our staff but in turn we reward high levels of commitment. We offer a culture of coaching, research and evidence-based enquiry, including through Teamworks EEF Research School. Every member of our teaching staff is involved in our ‘Coaching for Excellence’ programme; a reflective scheme whereby staff work in trios to focus on improving teaching and learning in all subjects. High quality teaching and learning together with outstanding outcomes are central to our school improvement agenda.

The Halifax Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. DBS checks are required for all relevant posts.
