There are two schools in the PolyMAT multi academy trust, an all-inclusive boys’ school (co-educational at Post 16), rated good in its last inspection (2019) and a brand-new state-of-the-art girls’ school, that opened in September 2019. The Trust prides itself on a culture of high standards and values from staff and pupils. The ICT Technician role is demanding yet rewarding and this is a Trust where students and staff feel valued and supported.

This is a very hands-on position, where team work is crucial and all the Team members from the IT Manager down to the Technicians work alongside each other on projects to ensure the job is done to a high standard and efficiently.

The successful IT Technician must have:

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Level 2/3 IT Technician in supporting IT in a controlled environment.

• Experience in the education sector is desirable but not essential.

• Experience of working in a professional team and supporting day to day developments.

• Experience of using Windows, Mac OS operating systems (mainly a windows school).

• Microsoft server 2012 and above skills, active directory DNS, DHCP, group policies and Office 365 skills essential.

• High level of technical knowledge and competence in ICT

• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

The successful candidate will be a reliable and committed individual with the qualities, skills and drive necessary to fulfil this role. The purpose of this role is to allow students to access the curriculum and achieve the very best results that they can, and teachers to provide outstanding teaching in the classroom through a variety of technologies.

You should have a good all-round education with A’ Levels and GCSE grade C or above in English and Mathematics (or equivalent). A degree is desirable but not essential.

As a member of staff at PolyMAT, we can offer you:

• Opportunities for career progression

• Excellent professional development

• A contributory pension scheme

• Opportunities to collaborate with outstanding and dynamic teaching professionals

• An employee assistance programme

• Childcare vouchers

• Season ticket loans

• Finders fees for personal introductions of staff that we employ

• Excellent catering facilities

The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, including the need for the successful candidate to undertake a disclosure and barring check via the Disclosure and Barring Service.

The Trust is also committed to promoting equality, challenging discrimination and developing community cohesion. We welcome applications from all sections of the community.

Details of the role and the application form are available on the school’s website
