Inclusion and SEN Administrator

(Full Time, 52 week contract)

“Nobody left behind. Nobody held back. Everybody loved.”

Canary Wharf College Crossharbour is the first secondary school within a growing multi-academy trust. If you enjoy working with a sense of real team trust and shared purpose, have ambitions to influence whole school development, receive invaluable CPD and be part of a bigger educational landscape to transform lives then please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

The Role

This is a multi-faceted role to provide direct administrative support across several departments within the school including:

  • the Special Educational Needs Department
  • the Pastoral Department
  • the Central Admin Services

You will need to demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and an ability to work as part of a team as you will liaise across the Senior Leadership Team, wider teaching staff body and the administrative team as well as all visitors. You will also be required to provide general admin support for the school which will include covering the front desk when required.

Opportunities for wider school responsibilities can be created and the role will provide excellent experience for a successful candidate who is looking to bring genuine added value to a shared purpose. For this reason, we place as much value on ambition and potential as we do on experience.

Our School

Canary Wharf College Crossharbour is a new free school with the most incredible journey both having been undergone and still ahead. It has the highest ambitions for young people in our community on the Isle of Dogs and across the wider borough of Tower Hamlets. We opened in 2016 at the top of one of our primary schools and moved into a new interim, purpose built, site with excellent facilities in September 2018. As of September 2022, the school will be at capacity in its current site with 450 students from Years 7-11, taught in small class sizes, and will expand into sixth form once we have opened our permanent 1200 strong school, currently scheduled for September 2024 opening.

We have a strong educational ethos ‘To Live, Share and Celebrate a Love of Learning’ and we embed this positive ethos by aligning everything that we do with four key principles:

  • Curriculum at the Centre: we remain ‘obsessed’ with what we teach our students
  • Exemplary Behaviour: we have clear principles informing behaviour and conduct to achieve the highest standards of behaviour for learning
  • Exceptional Teaching: we have a clear pedagogical strategy and support every member of staff to be able to delivery consistently excellent teaching
  • Valuing every child: we work tirelessly to alleviate barriers to individual student achievement

The school is made up of committed and aspirational staff led by visionary and experienced trustees and senior leaders. Staff development is a key priority and we boast a unique collaborative approach where, through regular meetings, senior leaders support all staff to take ownership for their own development, both by providing high quality guidance and promoting employees to make research-informed decisions, as well as attend tailored internal and external CPD.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is committed to the school ethos and is enthusiastic about joining an expanding school.
  • Has the vision, drive, and leadership skills to help develop an outstanding and core part of the school.
  • Has high expectations, demonstrates excellent practice and a hunger for feedback.
  • Has excellent organisational, communication and analytical skills, with an ability to motivate and inspire others.
  • Can always channel their emotions positively, only ever works with purpose and continually considers their impact on others.
