A “fresh start” school now firmly “Good” – join our team on the way to outstanding.
Just 30 minutes by train from Central London, The Highcrest Academy is the first All Ability Academy in in the county of Buckinghamshire. It is culturally diverse and a vibrant school making it a fantastic place to work. We have some students who will need all your support and yet we also featured in the national Ofsted report (2016) for providing challenge to the most able. Does this enthuse you?
There are approximately 900 students on roll, which includes the Sixth Form. A new building programme, due for completion in September 2018, comprises a brand new Sixth Form Centre, sports facilities including a gym and a new restaurant for both students and staff.
A calm and patient disposition is vital to this role to create a calm and nurturing environment for students with a range of difficulties. This could include mental health issues or to reintegrate a student into school after them being on a reduced timetable. The role will require an interest in engaging students who are struggling and therefore a creative approach in support of their learning will be needed to maximise outcomes. Behaviour management skills and a good understanding of what causes behaviour may also be required. You will be part of the wider Inclusion Team.
Highcrest offers an innovative and extensive CPD package that was recognised as an excellent example of good practice in our most recent Ofsted Inspection. No matter what your experience, we will help you develop into the person you aspire to be.
“I’d definitely say our INSET and CPD programme/sessions are far better than anything I’ve seen or heard of from other schools.” ... Head of Art
We also have a thriving House system that brings our whole school community together.
“The growing house system encourages competition between not only students but also staff, which creates a real community feeling, making it an enjoyable place to work.” ... Head of Humanities
If you are passionate about education and want to really make a difference to the lives of young people then The Highcrest Academy could be the school for you; a thriving school in the heart of the community, with free on-site parking, staff recognition schemes and also “Friday Biscuits”!
