Initial Teacher Trainee

Contract: Fixed Term; Two years and one term;

Salary: £21,582 - £32,151 per annum Unqualified Teacher pay scale (Outer London) plus £2,270 SEN1 allowance;

Start Date: September 2021.

Meadow High is a successful Special School for children with Complex Learning Needs, including Autism (currently 255 on roll). This success was highlighted in our last Ofsted Report (May 2018)

We are looking to appoint an Initial Teaching Trainee working in the 6th form from September 2021.

To qualify for this role, you must hold a degree or will have a degree in September 2021 which meets the requirements of the assessment only route to teaching.

We wish to appoint a candidate with;

• An Honours Degree in September and GCSE or equivalent at grade C or above in English, Maths and Science.
• A passion in raising the achievement of children with learning and communication difficulties
• A track record of being an outstanding teaching assistant, who is keen to develop their skills.
• Forward planning skills and a drive for excellence.
• The ability to be positive and a supportive team player.
• Some understanding of how SEN can impact on learners.
• A commitment to supporting individual pupils and at time families.
• Good organisational skills.
• A highly structured approach to teaching suited to the needs of pupils with ASD and other learning difficulties.
• A sense of humour.
