A bespoke Special Educational Needs Post 16 Setting, with Outreach and in College offers, commencing as soon as possible but no later than September 2024.


c. £39,000 - £45,000 (Pro rata) dependent upon qualification and experience

39 weeks per year to include 5 training days, part time considered


RISE are Revolutionising SEND Education for aspirational learning, personal empowerment and confidence to shatter glass ceilings, reaching new levels of achievement with young people aged 16-25 years old. RISE prioritises understanding the whole person and uses this to inform the curriculum, programmes of support and to build a solid platform for future pathways.

We are seeking a dynamic, innovative and experienced SEND Practitioner to work within our Post 16 SEND Setting, reporting to the Provision Lead but with potential to undertake leadership responsibility over time. With a hugely successful branch in the heart of Bedford we hope to meet the growing need for Post 16 support in other adjoining counties. 


The successful candidate will account for the RISE SENDCO service and ensure the provision of high standards of teaching, support, intervention and guidance to help students overcome barriers to learning, engagement and wellbeing. To work within a dynamic team of staff that :

  • offer effective and transformative support for young people;
  • identify holistic need;
  • inform appropriate and wholistic curriculums that support wellbeing;
  • build resilient platforms for future pathways; and
  • support all SEND practices in accordance with the SEND Code of Practice.


We need an inspirational SENDCO to support and deliver an innovative curriculum adapted and modified, not only to meet needs and outcomes and aspirations, but to develop the character, confidence and independence of the young people that attend. We need a SENDCO that can motivate, strengthen work based and social links, promote productivity, happiness, balance, contentment and opportunity for students.
