Tes Institute is looking to recruit people who live in UAE to support trainee teachers on our Straight to Teaching and Assessment Only programmes in schools based in UAE.

Tes Institute, part of Tes Global, is one of the largest providers in England of Initial Teacher Training (ITT), Subject Knowledge Enhancement (SKE), and professional development and leadership training. We are also a provider of ITT in many other areas of the globe.

You must have experience of:

  • working in a middle leader position within an English or overseas education setting (typically in schools following the English Curriculum)
  • working with trainee teachers, NQTs or teaching colleagues, including making judgements against the Teachers' Standards and in providing advice and support to develop practice
  • observing teaching and learning and providing verbal and written feedback to develop practice
  • working professionally with school staff at all levels from head teacher to trainee teacher.

You must be available to attend face-to-face training in Dubai at one of the following times:

Tuesday 19th, Wednesday 20th June: 4:00 – 6:00pm UAE standard time.

About us

Tes Institute is a leading provider of online courses and programmes with a particular focus on teacher training and development. We have a wealth of experience in the education sector and our Initial Teacher Training Programme (School Direct and Assessment Only ITT) is accredited by The National College for Teaching and Leadership (NCTL). We have been praised by Ofsted for the quality of our training across the partnership.

Tes Institute, inspected under the June 2014 two stage Ofsted framework, received an overall grade of ‘Good’ for its work in securing consistently high quality outcomes for its trainees.

Straight to Teaching

Our QTS development programme, Straight to Teaching, is designed to help existing school staff become qualified teachers through a bespoke QTS preparation programme. Programmes run in Primary and all main Secondary subjects and the length ranges from 1-5 terms, depending on the learner’s existing experience.

Pathway Tutors are expected to work with a school mentor in supporting the learner’s development by providing regular guidance, feedback and support online. They will also be responsible for creating a personalised QTS preparation programme for their learners during an initial needs assessment. The tutor will visit their learner at least once a term in school.

You can find out more about the programme here.

Assessment Only

Our Assessment Only route is for unqualified teachers with a degree and significant teaching experience. The learner should be almost fully prepared to meet the Teaching Standards and will be enrolled following a Pathway Tutor Enrolment Visit to confirm eligibility. The learner will be guided by their Pathway Tutor to finalise evidence and prepare for their final QTS Assessment.

You can find out more about the programme here (click Assessment Only in the left hand column).
