Purpose and Scope:
The role of IT Helpdesk Technician sits within the IT Central Services of Greater Manchester Academies Trust. This role is to ensure proper computer operation so that end users can accomplish academy tasks. This includes receiving, prioritising, documenting, and actively resolving end user help requests. Problem resolution will involve the use of diagnostic tools and tracking of helpdesk tickets via the academy IT helpdesk system.
We are looking for someone who has a good understanding of a range of Microsoft office, laptop and desktop components. Has a working knowledge of google apps and also has experience of Microsoft windows servers ranging from 2008 to 2016.
You must be able to demonstrate excellent customer server skills whilst also having the required technical knowledge to confidently troubleshoot general IT related issues.
You will also contribute to the planning and development of the Trust IT support service and provide high quality service in relation to user requests and incidents in line with agreed processes. You will also support the drive towards self-service across the Trust with the aim of improving the quality of teaching and learning through the identification and implementation of IT support and training staff and students.
